The Bugle Pattern and Principles, Pt. 3

Pattern and Principle, Pt. 3
Bishop Bart Pierce
August 27, 2017

We’ve talked about different aspects of principled life and how important it is. You become successful and prosper when you base your life on principles and you find the patterns that work for you. If we build our Christian life based on principle, then we’ll build patterns around it that will secure the principle and testify back to us of the principle. The patterns become like roadmaps and lead us to our journey in life. I read a quote the other day that said, “If life isn’t a test, God would have given us more instructions.” I can guarantee you that life is a test! And, everyday, we’re getting graded. The question becomes, “How’d you do at the end of the day? Did you pass or fail? Do you have to take the test again?” Israel was 40 years in the wilderness on an eleven day journey. Every day of our life is a test.

There are several scriptures I’m going to give you. The first is Hebrews 2:1-10 NJKV, “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” You’ve got to pay attention or your boat’s going to drift away from the dock. “For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation…” How will we escape, in 2017, if we neglect so great a salvation? They had angelic visitations on a regular basis, back then. They had things manifesting that caused them to know that God was present. (We’ll be looking at these scriptures: James 1:2-4, 1 Peter 1:6-9, 1 Peter 4:12-16)

We’re going to look at angels and their assignments to God, to man, and to perform God’s Word. Angels are a principle. Have you heard of principalities and powers? Angels are a principle and there is a pattern that they follow that will help us embrace the truth that angels are present, constantly. This morning when we were worshipping, I said that many of us worship but we don’t really believe He’s present. Yet, the Bible contradicts such a belief system. When I’m sitting in front of God and handling the Word, I don’t have time to doodle and play games. I don’t have time to fall asleep when I’m reading God’s Word, because I’m aware that that Book is God talking to me in this Book. So, when I read this, I read it as though He’s present. I have an audience with Him. I’m no longer reading, I’m listening to Him talk to me. I’m aware that in that moment, He’s present. When I go to pray, I don’t pray to an unknown god. That’s what Paul did at Mars Hill. He said, “You people pray to an unknown god. I pray to a God I know.”

We’ll continue on Friday. Have a great week!

Power of Prayer
Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
– Hebrews 10:35-36 NIV

Lord, I know that what I may see as unanswered prayer may not be unanswered at all. It means that You are answering according to Your will. Whether I understand Your will or not doesn’t affect the fact that I trust it and praise You for it. Thank You for Your unfailing Word and that You always keep Your promises to me. I thank You that Your power is infinite. Your judgments and Your will are perfect, and I trust them. Whether or not my prayers are answered the way I pray them, I will praise and worship You above all things. For You are my Wonderful Counselor, my Everlasting Father, my Stronghold in the Day of Trouble, and my Resting Place. I rest in You today.

From Our E-Store

Life is full of daily battles. Why do good Christian soldiers – pastors, leaders, intercessors, and others – lose some of those battles? Is it possible that they fail to reach their greatest potential because they go to battle without the covering of a spiritual father? In this day of do-it-yourselfism, Bishop Bart Pierce says it’s time to address our need for fathers – both spiritual and natural. It’s God’s desire and the groan of the world for mature sons to come forth.

You can purchase this, and many other books, in our Revival Bookstore before or after any service!
